The following is a video of the new Italian Motors 2-seater Shifter Kart while doing demo rides at the Championship Karting International Grand Prix of California at the CalSpeed Karting facility in Fontana, CA.

LAP AROUND LAGUNA SECA RACEWAY – CR125 – SPEC/STOCK MOTO SHIFTER KART A lap around Laguna Seca Raceway during the first car/kart open track day with ncracing.org on 11/1/2010. Top speed here with a bit over 100mph. More can be had in the draft. —————————————————————————————- The kart is a 2003 Birel CR32SR, with a ~32hp, 125cc Honda Stock Moto engine (CR125), 6 speed sequential transmission. If ran with SKUSA, it would fall into the S4 Masters (Age 30+) category. 405lbs minimum weight, including kart, driver and fuel. Tires used are MG-FZ. I use 110 octane fuel and Maxima Castor oil along with Motul transmission fluid. —————————————————————————————- The camera was mounted on top of the radiator. DD2 vs Shifter Kart @ Canberra Kart Track
Bruce Otter in his Arrows DD2 tries in vain to catch Troy Somebody (Woolston, I think) racing a TMk9 Shifter. Bruce was all over him through the corners, but the DD2′s 32hp couldn’t match the shifter’s 40hp up the back straight. Footage is from practice for the Open Performance class at the Stable Karting ACT Titles held on 24-May-2008. Troy went on to blitz the field in the final. From memory Bruce finished 5th. There was no weight parity between the karts. Music is “Hate to say I told you so” by The Hives.
