I have the same bike and I put a modded Briggs 5hp on it- milled head, no air filter, straight pipe- and i can cruise at about 50mph but believe me it gets scary with that little disc brake

hey peeps, i have the same bike but with a highly custum matalic orange and metalic charcoal grey paintjob with sick chrom parts and decals i have made mod to the stock engine like loosening the governer and doings some stuff to the carb and the air filter. the frame is orange the rims are metalic grey the spracket pegs and kickstand are also grey. i also have a rip rod flag on the bike it haulls 37mph and a better 3.6hp i am selling it soon for 370-450$ i live in portland oregon.
i have one and i loosened the governor and got it to go about 35 mph.

with mine i loosend the govenor and it goes around 26mph.
i want to know what upgrades to get to make it go atleast 40mph.

i have the same doodle bug i weigh 190 and i got mine up to 40 on a half mile straight away i removed the exhaust pipe and put on an elbow to redirect the exhaust and a new air filter its amazing
theres a little metel piece that sticks up which blocks the plastic throtle meter on top of the carb file either the metel or the plastic off to allow it to go full over. have someone lift up the back tire hit the throttle and you will see it is still governed but manually pull that black peice back and you will see how much extra power there is. for a quick fix double tie a rubber band around the metel rod and fuel line. you will have no throtle controll but it will haul ass. adjust throttle
guy simply file some of it off the adjust your throttle so it can open it up so u can eliminat the string
simply that isnt the govoner, that only allows u to open up the throttle more, what u need to do is adjust ur air fuel mix, u can do it by playing with those plastic screws on your carb, also make your air filter more effeicant, i did mine by buying a 20 dollar 4inch air filter from canadien tire, its only 20 bucks, i also drilled some holes in the end of the exhaust wich allow less back pressure for the increased air flow. ill post a vid when the weather is nicer so u can see.
what we did is we found the little carb switch (that lets the gas in) and we tied a string to it. and when we want more power we pull the string and it just fucking FLIES!…thing has power if you know how to enable it.
there is a screw on the back side of the motor on the end with spring thats the govenor loosen that screw and it willl go faster.
The idiot just loosened it to mcuh and blew a rod wat a retard

same hear you were over clocking your engine you can eather fix broken parts from what ever you brook or you can buy a new one thats faster and dont over clock.
hey i have one too and i want to know how t make it go faster.
my doodlebug use to go full speed but all the suden it dosnt it starts up first try everytime and and moves but just wont go full speed at all i loosend the govenor befor this happend and it went rly rly fast but for sooome reason it just wont go full speed at all anymore and i only owned it since christmas 2009 somone got a idea or might no whats up please let me no thank you

i got one but i got arrested for driving it around streets, but they droopped the charges and gave my bike back.i wanna put a honda engine in mine(so the cops wont catch me ) hahahahahah
